Prior to 1863, there was no regulation for player’s uniform in football. The two rival teams were distinguished from each other by color of the caps and the scarves, worn around the neck. The first football uniform regulation was introduced in 1870. Initially the player, who could afford to wear the shirt more often, was able to play for the team. The first jersey was manufactured in 1879 by Bukta and later in 1883; the term football shirt was coined.

During this period the shirt was made of hard cotton fiber, to withstand shirt tugging during the match. However gradual changes in the rules led to introduction of light weight shirts. The shirts in team colors were initially restricted to players only. But from middle of twentieth century due to new concepts in mass production and steadily increasing demand of the fans; replicas of team shirts were manufactured on mass scale.

The modern version is short sleeved for summer and spring use, and long sleeved for winter. The material used for manufacture of shirt is polyester and nylon, because of their light weight and the comfort they provide to the wearer. Nowadays the shirts are button-less and even without collars.

In 1939, the football league management introduced numbers on the players’ shirt. The goalkeeper got number 1 because his position was fixed at the goal post, unlike the other players whose position changed throughout the match. In 1965 substitutes were given 12 and 14 numbers, while the goalie got number 13.

In 1954, FIFA introduced squad numbering system which made it mandatory for players of the national teams to wear the same number throughout the tournament. On April18th 1993, in the League cup the name and the number of each player were printed on the back of the shirt. The 1994 world cup for first time in its history saw, both the name and number printed on the back side of the players.

The football shirt worm by the goal keeper is different from that of his team members. Initially in 1970’s the color of the goalie shirt was restricted to green, red, blue or white. The goalie shirt looked like long sleeved vest and the other type looked like, a v-necked polo sweater. It was modified to lighter version and looked like athletic shirt; like the one worn today by goalkeepers.

From the early 19th century heavy cotton uppers, to modern day trendy designer shirt, with huge demand among the fans, the football shirt have come a long way indeed. The replicas of shirts of national or club teams are widely manufactured and easily available for the fans. They wear the replicas of the football shirt to show their love and support for their team. This increase in sales of shirts has increased the revenues of the clubs. Further the official sponsor of the team has their logo of the brand affixed on the shirt. This has facilitated advertisement of corporate brand in front of the global audience that the game of football attracts.

Related posts:

The Trendy Modern Day Football Shirt

History of the Football Shirt

The Popularity of Soccer Shirt

The World Cup 2010 South Africa

FIFA

Brazil Paraguay

Football World Cup

Group Japan

Ivory Coast

Nelson Mandela

Operational Experts

Peter Mokaba

World Cup Soccer

World War Ii

Zinedine Zidane

By: Tyler LongThe FIFA World Cup, occasionally called the Football World Cup, but usually referred to simply as the World Cup, is an international football competition contested by the men’s national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the sport’s global governing body. (I Thought They Were Cleats!)" />

The name of the footwear used for playing soccer is commonly referred to as cleats, or in Europe, boots. However, if you are speaking of indoor soccer, it is quite proper to refer to your cleats as shoes, especially since they don’t actually have the spikes usually associated with cleats.

Indoor soccer shoes should have a non-marking rubber sole, meaning even hard use on a gym floor or other surface will not leave it worse for the wear. Many players who frequent both grassy and indoor fields refer to their indoor shoes as flats, and their traditional grass field shoes as cleats. Flat soccer shoes are also appropriate on dry artificial surfaces, even when outdoors.

Before we consider the different types of uppers available on soccer shoes, a brief explanation of what is meant by the term upper will help you in your decision process. Quite easily put, the upper is that section of the shoe which will come in constant contact with ball. Uppers can be comprised of an assortment of natural leathers and synthetic blends of leathers.

You can realize the best ‘feel’ or touch on the ball with the most expensive leather, which is Kangaroo, however, along with the high price, there are a couple of other downfalls to consider. Soccer shoes made with Kangaroo leather uppers will not last very long, and along with the sacrifice for durability, they will also require a treatment, or special coating, to help prevent water retention. That being said, though, virtually anyone who has played in Kangaroo leather will tell you it is the softest, most lightweight boot you will ever own, and the cost and other sacrifices are well worth the price for the tremendous touch on the ball.

Next in cost comes Pittards leather, which is currently only available from Puma in soccer shoes. This is a specially treated calfskin leather, which goes through a patented process to gain a water-resistant quality, also causing it to dry faster. These boots will maintain their softness longer than untreated calfskin, and also stretch less, therefore affording the player a truer fit for a longer period. These boots are not as expensive as Kangaroo leather, and do offer many fine qualities the Kangaroos lack.

Calfskin leather is the old stand by choice for soccer shoe uppers, for good reasons. It is the least expensive of the natural leathers, and yet offers great durability, and much less stretching than the Kangaroo. You do sacrifice some of the intricate touch on the ball that is so beautiful with the Kangaroo, since the calfskin uppers are heavier, however, for a beginning to mid-range player these should see the season out with no complaints.

Whatever type of shoe you ultimately choose, good fit is of the prime importance. Go to a sports store, with knowledgeable associates to assist you in choosing the correct style and size. Having your soccer socks with you for the fitting will prove invaluable. The boots need to fit closely in the heel and the toe, and do bear in mind that good leather shoes will stretch a bit. As a coach, I always advised my players to wear their new boots around the house the week before using them in a match. This enables a bit of the breaking in to begin, prior to the tough use they will see on the field.

The last shoe every player should own is a good pair of soccer sandals. These rubber slides often offer a bit of nubbing on the insole, a great cooling comfort to weary feet.

Related posts:

Not All Soccer Cleats Are Created The Same

Quality Soccer Shoes Give You A Feel For The Game And Feel Great Too

Gosh, a Soccer Fundraiser to Pay for Shoes

Ashlee Simpson-wentz Confirmed Pregnancy

Soccer Pictures

By: The DivaWell, the speculation was right! Fortunately, this report includes the latest weight loss Success info available.

It seems like new information is discovered about something every day. And the topic of weight loss Success is no exception. Keep reading to get more fresh news about weight loss Success.

Katie, a 33-year-old mother of two, has been on her share of diets over the years. From Weight Watchers to the Zone to Sugar Busters, she feels as if she has tried them all. While she has had moderate success in losing weight from time to time, she has never found a long-term weight loss solution. Her weight is a point of contention in her marriage; her husband—who also happens to be obese—wishes she were thin, but says he loves her anyway. The two have been separated a number of times, and even filed for divorce once. The stress has caused Katie to begin binge eating again.

There is hope for Katie and others like her who feel as if they’re trapped on the diet carousel. The key to long-term weight loss success may not be the body, but the mind. Research indicates that those who have a positive outlook on life are more likely to lose weight—and stay thin. But how can you have a positive outlook when you’ve been burned so many times before? Is it possible to “will your way” to losing weight?

One technique that has been proven effective in sports training is something called visualization. For instance, a baseball player might visualize his bat connecting with a ball, leading to a homerun. A soccer player might visualize kicking the winning goal in a soccer match. And a golfer might visualize sinking the winning putt in the Masters Tournament.

The same technique can be used by dieters. Visualize yourself as thin. Picture yourself in that dress that is now two sizes too small. Imagine stepping onto the scale and being pleased with the result. Visualize yourself saying “no” to that piece of chocolate cake or that plate of Fettucini Alfredo. These mind exercises can help to spur you onto weight loss.

When people learn they are suffering from cancer, they are encouraged to imagine their cancer cells being destroyed by healthy cells. You can follow the same technique in order to lose weight. That means imagining your fat cells being destroyed by thin cells. Through such a method, you can “think your way” to a healthy weight.

In addition, it is critically important that you maintain a positive attitude. Be forgiving of yourself. If you veer off your diet plan, simply get back on course with your next meal. Don’t spend precious time “beating yourself up” over your failures. Instead, celebrate your successes—in a non-fattening way. For instance, when you reach a milestone—say you’ve lost ten pounds—reward yourself with a trip to an art museum or to your favorite coffee shop (but skip the cream and sugar). Marking milestones will give you a sense of accomplishment, a sense that you are triumphing over food.

Another helpful technique can be prayer or meditation. Some support groups even offer Bible-based weight loss programs that use scripture verses to help inspire. Taking stock of your life and handing your weight loss problems over to a higher power can be cathartic and may give you a sense of peace about your weight difficulties. It has been said that a clear head leads to a healthy body. Try praying or meditating ten minutes at the start of your day. Chances are you will feel refreshed and ready to tackle the weight challenges that come your way.

Yet another technique you might consider is role-playing. Grab your spouse or a friend and ask him or her to act out a situation in which you might be tempted to overeat. You’ll be forced to come up with strategies to fight temptation. This rehearsal could prove to be quite helpful when a real life diet dilemma comes your way. If role-playing works for job interviews, it should be beneficial for your weight as well.

Mind over matter is not just a clever saying. It can actually be the solution to your weight loss problems. By using your brainpower, you can develop the techniques needed to make healthy food choices. When your mind and your body are both healthy, you have the best of both worlds.

I hope that reading the above information was both enjoyable and educational for you. Your learning process should be ongoing–the more you understand about any subject, the more you will be able to share with others.

Did you find this article useful? For more useful tips and hints, points to ponder and keep in mind, techniques, and insights pertaining to Internet Business, do please browse for more information at our websites.

http://www.adsence-dollar-factory.com

http://www.100earningtips

Related posts:

Discovered about Weight Loss Success Strategies

Key Strategies for Weight Loss Success : Mind Over Matter:

Weight Loss Secrets – Mind Over Matter
