The city lies on the banks of the river Guadalquivir and have many exiting attractions - the only thing Seville haven’t got is beaches, but instead it has everything else.
The most famous attraction in Seville is the Cathedral (La Giralda) – which is one of the world largest. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Cathedral and especially the tower from where you have a beautiful view over the city. You will also find the tomb of Christopher Columbus in the Cathedral or actually nobody is quite sure if it is him, because several countries claim that he is buried in their country.
The historic city centre is fabulous with a wide range of really good restaurants, tapas bars, shops and an atmosphere which you find nowhere in Spain. The old bars – which has not changed for ages - has an unique charm and you can even have a fairly good meal for a few Euros. If you are planning to spend some time in Seville on vacation or a city break we recommend city vacation rentals in the historic city centre. That is the best and most comfortable way to discover Seville.
Seville contains many more things and Holy week is said to best place to experience it. We agree on that and if you have the possibility to spend Easter in the city – then do it. If you have never discovered this Catholic tradition you will be surprised. You will see hundreds of men bearing large impressive thrones to symbols of Jesus' crucifixion. This is a tradition throughout Andalusia and is not seen anywhere else in the world.
The fair in April is another tradition which we recommend as well. Enjoy this great festival in the city centre and be surprised with happy people and see the typical Flamenco and try some of the courses of Seville and the lovely wine.
And finally if you are into soccer then Seville now has one team in the best Spanish league. Seville FC is currently the only team in the Primera division as the other team Betis Seville was degraded to the second division this summer. You can see Seville FC on the fascinating stadium Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan
